En kruttønne av en synth med distinktive bølgeformer, Kaoss Physics og Motion Sequencing 2.0
modwave builds on the DW legacy and transforms it into a modern monster synth, featuring incredibly deep wavetable oscillators, gorgeous filters, wildly flexible modulation, unmatched polyphony, comprehensive pattern sequencing, and immediately satisfying hands-on control.
New features in modwave software version 1.1 adds support for the modwave Editor/Librarian and Sample Builder, and provides many other new features and operational improvements as detailed below.
modwave Editor/Librarian
The modwave Editor/Librarian lets you edit and organize Performances, Programs, Motion Sequences, and Motion Sequence Lanes, and import and organize Wavetables. You can also edit all internal effects parameters (over 60 for some effects!), and create your own Effects Presets. Use your MacOS or Windows computer to get a quick overview of your sounds, with graphical editing for Motion Sequences, Kaoss Physics, envelopes, LFOs, and more. Create modulation routings simply by dragging a mod source onto a destination. Motion Sequences are animated as you play, and knobs and sliders show the results of modulation in real-time.
The modwave Editor/Librarian is available as a free download from www.korg.com. For more information, please see the documentation included with the download.
Sample Builder
Load up to 4GB of your own samples into the modwave using Korg’s Sample Builder, an application for MacOS and Windows. Import mono or stereo .wav files, including .wav metadata for loop points and root keys, at practically any sample rate. Sample Builder also includes basic tools for editing start points and loops. Arrange the samples across the keyboard to create Multisamples for the wavestate. Group Multisamples into Banks; the modwave can have one user sample bank loaded at a time, with up to 3,000 mono samples (1,500 stereo) in up to as many Multisamples. Multisamples use unique identifiers, so Programs keep track of them even if they are loaded in a different bank, or if the bank order or name changes.
Sample Builder is available as a free download from www.korg.com. For more information, please see the documentation included with the download.
Kaoss Physics
Kaoss Physics now includes a new parameter, Lag Time. Also, the Edge Pass-Thru parameter is now renamed Edge Bounce.
Lag Time [0 msec...10 sec] This controls a set of lag filters which smooth out the modulation values generated by Kaoss Physics. 0 msec is the default; the modulation values directly represent the movement of the ball. Higher values create increasingly gentle transitions between values, smoothing out abrupt changes. Note: Lag Time affects only the Kaoss Physics modulation outputs, rather than the motion of the ball.
Edge Bounce [Off, On] Previously, this parameter was named “Edge Pass-Thru.”Off: This removes the walls entirely, so that the surface wraps around to the opposite edges like a vintage arcade game. On: The ball bounces off of the four walls.
Available Storage
The System Stats page now includes a new read-only parameter, Available Storage. Available Storage [Amount in GB or MB] This shows the amount of internal space available for saving sounds and samples.
Other Improvements
In addition to the changes described above, modwave software version 1.1 includes a number of other improvements and bug fixes.
modwave also introduces two unique new tools for creating dynamic motion: Kaoss Physics and Motion Sequencing 2.0. Kaoss Physics combines an x/y Kaoss pad with modulatable game physics to create a responsive, interactive controller that is—besides being powerful— a lot of fun. Motion Sequencing 2.0 brings the organic, continuously evolving patterns of the wavestate's Wave Sequencing 2.0 into the world of motion sequencing, including multiple lanes and real-time recording.
Like Wave Sequencing 2.0 (wavestate) and altered FM (opsix), modwave’s evolved wavetable synthesis delivers its own brand of completely unique sounds and a knob-per-function layout that makes customizing those sounds fast and easy. To start, there are hundreds of preset sounds empowered by this new architecture, organized by front-panel category buttons, and all instantly customizable via the four Modulation Knobs. modwave's distinctive wavetable timbres deliver aggressive basses & leads, and lush ambient pads will add a new dimension to your tracks. Those who want to dig deeper will find an endless source of discovery; you'll be finding new things in this synth for a long, long time. Save as many new sounds as you like; there's room for thousands more.
Korg began with an idea: use the latest technologies to create the finest electronic musical instruments, and allow musicians to sound their very best. Since 1963, that has remained our passion. Along the way, Korg has earned a reputation of technological leadership, ease-of-use, and stunning sound. We’re Korg. We set out to create an organ and came up with Japan’s first synthesizer. Innovation is in our DNA. And yet we remain very human. We are a company of musicians and music enthusiasts that see ourselves as your musical partner. Like you, we love great sounds, we love a good interface, and we love music. We’re Korg. Welcome.
