In the 1920’s, people started experementing with delay effects by sending audio signals back and forth through telephone lines across very long distances. Listening to the original sound source and the signal coming back over the telephone line simultaneously caused the first ever artificial delay effect.
In the late 1940’s, sound engineers started to use magnetic tape decks for delay and in the 1950’s the first portable tape delays where built. Ever since then, guitar players in all styles of music have recognized the delay effect as an absolute must have.
The Black Sheep Tape Echo is a digital Tape Delay pedal that gives you the classic and sought after tape warbling delay sound. With the flick of a switch you can choose between Tube, Solid State and Reverse Delay, and the controls Level, Speed and Feedback are simple to use when dialing in your sound.
All Black Sheep Digital pedals have one user memory slot. Just set the sound you want to save, press and hold the footswitch, and the sound is saved. You can then double click the footswitch to toggle between your saved sound and another sound that you have dialed in on the pedal. This is a feature not at all common amongst stompboxes, but really great to have!
Tape Echo is an excellent Tape Delay pedal that brings back the classic sounds of the early delay effects of the 50’s and 60’s and will be a great adition to any guitar players pedal board.
