STUDIO 210 Due to the overwhelming demand for our incredible Studio range of Bass Specific combos we wanted to add to the range and develop further options as requested by our loyal and fantastic customers. Needless to say 2020 has been an interesting year and the need for more ‘At Home’ products has seen a departure in what we would normally be selling through out the year, with the need for big touring amps under review... The Studio range has captured the hearts and ears of many a bass player around the globe. So with the opportunity to add some firm favourite and winning speaker combinations we are proud to announce the all NEW Studio 210 combo as well as a refreshed firm favourite The Studio Tour Bus. The Studio 210 takes its rich feature set from its 15” brother in terms of features and functions with the addition of an external speaker output for use with an extension 8 ohm cab. Today people require our products to be portable yet practical, which in essence is a task of its own. When designing our new studio line we discussed a number of different ideas, but the key point was that they needed to sound as good as they look... So going back to basics we leaned upon one our tried and tested EQ sections by way of the 5 BAND EQ featured across our Rootmaster and OriginAL ranges, this EQ opens up everything you need to establish a great tone straight out of the box, with everything at 12 O’clock the NEW Ashdown Studio Range sounds as you would expect from a bass guitar warm yet articulate. A re-designed foot switchable valve emulated overdrive as well as an FX Loop, balanced XLR DI output and switchable tweeter in the Studio 210. The combos also feature a headphone output for silent practice essential for this day and age where listening habits are changing, we still all need to practice, unless your last name is Palladino.... So, it's 1997, and armed with a wealth of experience and headful of new ideas, Gooday kickstarts Ashdown Engineering to life with a simple vision – to build and 'engineer' a better bass amp.
With a nous for innovation and a flair for design, many would've jumped straight in, but Gooday was smart enough to first court feedback from some of the world's most respected bass players, including John Entwistle (The Who), Mark King (Level 42) and JJ Burnel (The Stranglers).
Inspired by the comments from these trusted advisors, Gooday focused his efforts on designing a new kind of bass amp, where superior tone was matched by unrivalled power and tour-grade performance in a truly engineered, uniquely-styled package.
